Wow — it’s been two weeks since I last posted.
Time really does fly. Between #DayJob, #RealLife, #GrantApplications and #KidsSportsEvents, I haven’t found time to do much more than read. I’ve made a start on a short story about a special little girl and a remarkable pair of eyeglasses, but have managed no other writing for the novel or the blog.
Thankfully, the first long weekend of the summer is upon us and I have an opportunity to remedy that situation. In the next few days, I hope to post reviews of Lauren Beukes’ The Shining Girls (brilliant, BTW) and Chuck Wendig’s The Blue Blazes (also very good — perhaps even better than his Miriam Black books). I should also be finishing up Tom Vader’s The Cambodian Book Of The Dead (fascinated by Cambodia as a setting in this one) and posting a review shortly thereafter.
It is time for me to wake the boys and make the drive up to our family cottage, where I will be reading or sharing these:
Best wishes to my fellow Canuckistanis for a safe and happy Victoria Day weekend!
